Water resource management and sustainable development strategies in arid regions
Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resource, Chinese Academy Sciences (NIEER, CAS) together with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich organized the training workshop "Water resource management and sustainable development strategies in arid regions of Central/Western Asia under climate change" which was held at Lanzhou, China from 17 to 30 September 2017.
The workshop covered a wide spectrum of topics related to sustainable water resources management in arid regions, including remote sensing technology, eco-hydrological modeling, optimization of the water resources allocation, integrated surface and groundwater modeling, real-time data assimilation for modeling tools, real-time monitoring, modeling and controlling system for groundwater management, and management decision support system for inland river basins.
